We work hard to support every child's progress academically, doing our best to ensure they reach their own potential and gain a love and thirst for learning on their journey through our school.
“The ethos of Shiplake CE Primary School is built upon mutual respect, good behaviour and the pursuit of high academic standards within a Christian and moral culture. The school encourages the co-operation of each individual to realize his or her own potential across a broad range of skills, within a happy, motivated and friendly community.”
We work hard to support every child’s progress academically, doing our best to ensure they reach their own potential and gain a love and thirst for learning on their journey through our school.
Promoting enjoyment and happiness is key as we firmly believe that if children feel happy and secure, they will learn more effectively and build confidence in all they do.
The term ‘education’ is used in a broad sense at Shiplake. It’s about providing children with skills that they can apply in the years to come, building social skills and confidence with people, developing a good knowledge of core and foundation subjects and appreciation of the arts, along with understanding and upholding Christian values. It’s about lifelong learning, self belief and an all round education.
In December 2016 the school had its SIAMS Inspection (Statutory Inspection for Anglican and Methodist Schools) where we were graded to be ‘Outstanding’. The report stated that:
“Explicit Christian values, understood and used by everyone create a successful learning environment in which children are nurtured in their academic and personal development. The headteacher, governors and staff have a passionate commitment to continually develop the Christian character of the school.“
